Call for applications for the National Sculpture Prize

The National Sculpture Prize 2010 is the second installment of the Art Prize created by the Bluecoat Display Centre to hunt out innovative new artists and makers.

Following the success of the 2008 competition and with the support of Malthouse & Co Chartered Accountants, the 2010 edition of the competition seeks to find 6 artists, whose work is new, exciting and thought provoking. Not only will the 6 short listed artists see their work on display in the gallery, they will also be eligible for £1,000 cash prize. There will also be a 'Peoples Choice Award' for the artist nominated by members of the public.

 

The exhibition, which takes place from Friday 13th August and Saturday 25th September 2010 at the Bluecoat Display Centre, during which time the winner will be selected by the judging panel. The winner of the cash prize will be announced on Friday 6th September 2010 at 6pm.

 

Entry fee for the prize: £10.

Application deadline: Wednesday 31 March 2010

The prize is open to professional artists, makers and craftspeople, aged over 18.
