News: West Midlands makers win awards at Origin

The Thomas Lyte Modern Heritage Award was launched at this years Origin, in conjunction with the Crafts Council. The aim of the award was to celebrate the importance of craftsmanship and increase the awareness of crafts. There were almost 200 applicants for the competition and West Midlands silversmith Louise Chesshire won the runners up prize for her Guipure vase.

Discover new ways to promote your work

DMWM in collaboration with Craftspace has recently launched a handbook at the ‘Pushing Boundaries’ Symposium at Staffordshire University, 16 June 2007.

 

The handbook is intended to act as a continuation of support after the symposium for designer makers wishing to research into new ways to promote their work, practice and profile.
