Design Nation seeks the latest British design talent

Design-Nation, the prestigious organisation which promotes the excellence of British design through its website www.designnation.co.uk, catalogue and exhibitions, is once again on the lookout for talented designers based in Britain to add to its online resource.  For the eighth successive year, the search has begun for the best designs in ceramics, glass, furniture, product design, silver, jewellery, metalwork, textiles and fashion accessories. 

 

Designers up and down Britain are encouraged to submit examples of their work for consideration by Design-Nation’s judging panel, who, if selected, will be featured alongside – Afroditi Krassa, Amos Marchant, Bob Crooks, Ella Doran, Studio Levien, Thomas Heatherwick, Tim Parsons, Timorous Beasties, Wendy Ramshaw – some of their most talented peers.

 

Design-Nation’s designer resource comprises some of the most talented designers currently working in the UK.  It consists of five design categories: ceramics & glass; furniture; interior/exterior design & products silver, gold, metalwork & jewellery; and textiles & fashion accessories.

 

The objective is to steadily expand the resource, to raise Design-Nation’s profile nationally and internationally and to focus the spotlight onto the members of the organisation, and in so doing to encourage trade and consumers alike to buy, source or commission good designs.   

 

Design-Nation Membership Selection Criteria:

  • the work must be well made, well designed and stand out in the marketplace
  • work must fit into one of the five website categories
  • the designer must be set up in business and based in Britain
  • the designer must operate professionally and be able to complete orders reliably

Entry Requirements:

  • completed form
  • images of  4 – 6 pieces of work
  • a current CV
  • if selected, each applicant agrees to pay the annual subscription of £120 + VAT
